Business Need
A retirement service provider had an established client base and was expanding its service offerings to include payroll processing which they had identified as
an inherent cross-selling opportunity. Our client was looking for a payroll software
application that would support their new service bureau environment. America OnShore (AOS) was contracted to implement and customize a system that would support a payroll
service bureau. |
Approach
AOS provided over-the-shoulder consulting to the retirement service provider
to define their requirements, assess their options and ultimately select their new
payroll system. Both companies worked together more actively to define and document
business processes required for the new service bureau to operate successfully.
AOS payroll professionals developed a training program with an emphasis on payroll
and system functionality and conducted the training sessions to staff. The AOS technical
team reviewed system requirements and defined a high-level integration strategy.
Overall, AOS brought to the project deep payroll,
product and technical knowledge along with extensive implementation experience. The following objectives
were identified:
- Create a standard implementation plan
for system configuration and set-up
- Define business process and training requirements
to support a production system
- Establish an integration plan for
the new payroll systems with existing systems
- Implement quickly and cost effectively

Result
The retirement service provider is now successfully providing payroll processing
services. The initial software implementation was completed by AOS in a short timeframe
and an implementation template was produced to be used by the client on subsequent
implementations. The service provider's staff was trained by AOS on both payroll
and the application and a training manual exists for ongoing training. The new system
is also integrated to work seamlessly with other retirement service providing systems
and because of the projects success, the next phase is underway to begin system
customizations. |
